We hope everyone’s getting excited for Friday. Last week we updated and posted all of the forms under Important Info for CSLD 2018, so check for any forms you might want to reference, print and/or bring to Latin Day.
Admission Letter: We also emailed an ‘admission letter’ to everyone registered, which was sent in lieu of the big ‘admission packet’ that we used to send. A couple of things to know:
- You will need to check in at the Welcome Tent on arrival in order to receive your bracelets. We will hand each school an envelope with exactly the number of bracelets that you registered and were confirmed for. Schools with additional people will not be admitted.
- You don’t need the ‘admission letter’ to enter CSLD 2018. You should print out what you need from the mailing but you will not need to present anything. I apologize for the naming of this.
Chaperones: You might notice we’ve worked to make chaperone duties more equitable this year. Regular chaperones are expected to help for 1.5 hours. If you would like to help out longer by coming earlier or staying later at your assignment, this is welcome and encouraged, but not required. Also be aware that set up and clean up time has been built into the schedule for most events.
Please be sure you prepare yourself and fellow chaperones for your/their assigned duties, and encourage everyone to do their share. If you had a positive or negative experience with a chaperone, feel free to share with us. We are interested in your feedback on all of the changes this year, so please take a minute to fill out the followup survey when it’s sent out.
General Preparation: In addition to chaperones, prepare the students. Make sure they know what is and isn’t Roman attire, go over your diploma expectations, and show them the various schedules. Kids get the most out of the day when they aren’t just wandering, and they might have the time to look over schedules even if you can’t in class.
Website Documents: These are the website documents mentioned in the admission letter. They are officially subject to change before Latin Day. See other tabs for official rules.
We look forward to seeing everyone Friday!
